Reopening Protocol for Clients
We are thrilled to announce that we will begin welcoming clients into the Yves Durif Salon at The Carlyle beginning on Monday, June 29! We are able to reopen, in large part, thanks to the kindness of The Carlyle and their deference to us. The Hotel itself is not open as yet and probably will not be for several months. Nonetheless, they are enabling us to reopen the Salon, much to our delight!
Our commitment to maintaining and protecting the safety of our clients and that of our Team is of utmost importance to us. There are many new safety and sanitation initiatives that we will be implementing, including physical distancing, reduction of stations to be utilized, 50% reduced occupancy, increased attention to sanitizing and meticulous hygiene, as well as the enforcement of the use of masks for clients, and masks and visors for Technicians. Please read our new protocol for clients below, and remember, if you are ill or have been around someone who is ill, please wait 14 days to schedule your appointment.
Special Protocol for Clients – Reopening of The Yves Durif Salon
Please enter through the main Carlyle entrance at 35 East 76th Street. Temperature will be taken by Security and may not exceed 100.4 degrees. The wearing of masks is required.
You will then be shown to the elevators where you will come up to the 3rd floor Salon. Only one person in the elevator at a time. The elevators will not have the usual Carlyle attendants – they will operate automatically.
Customers may be seen by appointment only and their name must appear on the Security list at the door. Only the client will be admitted – absolutely no friends, children, associates or dogs.
Per CDC requirements, we cannot have anyone waiting for their appointment, therefore, we ask that you are absolutely on time. In order to be able to see every client on the schedule and sanitize in-between clients, we need to adhere to a strict timetable. If you are more than 10 minutes late, we reserve the right to cancel your appointment.
Touchless Greetings & Goodbyes: we will not be shaking hands or hugging at this time.
No packages or food may be brought into the Salon.
Coats or outerwear must be hung on a coat rack in the 3rd floor Elevator hallway. Items will be hung and covered in a cleaner’s bag.
Inside the Salon, only bottled water will be offered – no other beverages or room service will be available.
There will be no waiting in the Reception area, and the Relaxation Room will be closed to clients. Please arrive promptly for your appointment. You will be brought in directly for your services.
Appointments will be limited to a single service – either Style or Color – to avoid lengthy stays in the Salon. Exceptions will be made only for clients with disabilities or those coming in from outside of the city.
Blow drys must be scheduled and will be done at the Stylist’s discretion. Blow drys by clients themselves will not be permitted either in the Salon or in the Ladies Room.
A Questionnaire and Waiver form will be sent out in conjunction with your appointment confirmation and must be filled out and signed prior to your arrival for all appointments.
Please inform us of any products you may be needing to purchase, in advance of your appointment, as merchandise may not be taken off the shelves for sale. We will have your purchases ready to be picked up at our Front Desk.
All payments will be cashless via credit card, including gratuities.
Masks must be kept on at all times.
No more than 2 people will be allowed in the Ladies Room at any time.
Lengthy conversations are discouraged during services so that we may stay on time, particularly because a thorough cleaning of each station must take place between each appointment.
Due to these new procedures, including more time being given to each appointment and time in between appointments for mandatory cleaning of stations per CDC requirements, you will not be able to schedule your appointment online at this time. To book, please call the Salon at 212-452-0954 beginning June 25. We have limited phone staff that will be working hard to accommodate you so we ask for your patience and understanding.
We look forward to seeing everyone again - even behind masks! - to be able to return you to your fabulous pre-lockdown style. Though your experience will be somewhat different due to these required safety precautions, you will still be receiving world-class styling from our incredibly talented Team. In order for us to do this safely and effectively, we require your cooperation, patience and understanding. We thank you in advance.
